The German car manufacturer Audi claims their fleet vehicles will be carbon neutral by 2050, and to help cover that offset Audi plans to launch 20 fully electric models by the year 2025.
Audi’s e-tron electric car goes further than many on the market in its commitment to the electric vehicle revolution. Delivering a plethora of charging ports, it makes recharging as easy as possible. With a range of 249 miles per charge, it also means that as a day-to-day drive, it’s more than capable of seeing you through days, or even weeks of travel between charges. For longer journeys or holidays, it has a range of adaptors that let it pull power from several sources.
The TFSI e badge for plug-in hybrid electric models refers to the turbocharged petrol engine and the electric motor that supports the petrol engine and can also power the car in pure electric mode.
Audi has been developing and delivering its PHEV offering for several years now (it first showed off the A1 e-tron and the e-tron Spyder back in 2009), and it plans to continue. It already has a hybrid version of the Q1 compact SUV on sale in China, and the all-electric e-tron GT (Grand Tourer) looks to be on its way too.
